Lush Haul

I used to walk past Lush stores and the smell would be so overpowering I just couldn't bring myself to actually go in. Until I saw Zoella's lush haul video last year that is, and it really made me want to give them a go. I love my bath time and really enjoy using products other than just standard bubble bath. Once you go in and actually smell the individual goodies I guarantee you will be hooked!

My favourite by far has to be the creamy candy bubble bar. I am always drawn to sweet smelling products and this literally smells like sweets and candy floss! The reason I love this one so much (other than the fact its pink, has a flower on top and smells of sweeties) is that it leaves my skin feeling so soft and moisturised as it has almond oil and cocoa butter in it. You smell AMAZING after your bath too. How you use it is you literally just crumble it under running warm water and it makes your bath go pink and so bubbly!

Next up is the butter ball bath bomb, this one is great for dry skin as it makes it super soft due to the little pieces of cocoa butter inside it. It leaves your skin feeling like you have moisturised it with cocoa butter which I love as it means I don't have to apply any products after my bath. It smells amazing, just like chocolate and vanilla! With this one you run your perfect bath temperature and just before you get in you throw it in the bath and it fizzes around until it has dissolved. This one might be a bit of a boring one as it has no colour but it is so nourishing for your skin. This one also reappears at Christmas as 'butterbear' which is so cute.

Now the holiday season is creeping in Lush have stocked up with all the Halloween, Bonfire night and Christmas products which I love! I had to get candy mountain bubble bar as its very similar to creamy candy which is my favourite. Its similar in smell but it has a slight shimmer to it. It also contains vanilla so it makes your bath lovely and sweet smelling.

Benefit Dallas Blusher Review

This blusher has literally been my summer essential this year. I had it a few years ago when I didn't really know what I was doing with makeup and gave up with it. Tragic I know. Now after a bit more practice and knowing what I'm actually doing with the products I thought I'd give it another try. Safe to say I'm very glad I did!

The packaging is a small square box which I've found sort of annoying when trying to fit it in my makeup bag along with all my other 'necessary' make up, but that's the only downside. It has a mirror under the lid and comes with a small soft natural bristle brush. Very handy.

It's a gorgeous plumy pink shade and I absolutely love the colour as it literally does give you a 'sun kissed' look. You use it on the high points of your face, forehead, cheeks, nose etc. to achieve the look like you've been sitting in the sun all afternoon. I love to use this product when I'm tanned as it gives you a lovely glowy finish. You only need a small amount of product to do the trick as it is quite pigmented and has a lovely shimmer to it so you don't want to overdo it!

Benefit recommends: 'For a natural fresh glow, lightly sweep this dusty sunset plum powder across cheekbones and chin or anywhere you want looks to linger'

I also love the Hoola bronzer by Benefit as it is the perfect 'tan' shade and really does make you look like you have a tan rather than looking orange like many bronzers do! It also has no sparkle or shimmer which is a massive bonus for me.

I would highly recommend both products as they really work well together. What is your go to blusher?

Winter white nails

Everyone from the TOWIE girls to Kim Kardashian and Rihanna have had white nails this season. They've seen us all through the summer and will carry on into the winter months too.

I have been loving fresh white nails as they just go with everything and look so chic. I've pretty much had white nails all summer as they stand out so much when you have a tan.

I picked up this nail polish by NYC from Superdrug for £2.49 which is an absolute bargain! It's in the colour 'pinstripe white 134' and is a bright opaque white which I'm really loving.

also had a manicure done a few weeks ago with a white nail polish by OPI in the colour 'funny bunny' which is more of a buildable white, so if you don't want to go full on then that's a good alternative.

Fake Bake Flawless Review

So like most people I loved to look tanned as it just makes you feel better, look slimmer and more healthy, and after trying many wash off fake tans and gradual moisturisers that I never really liked, I decided to take the plunge and try a permanent tan. I am pleased to say that I have finally found my go to tanning product!

Fake Bake Flawless is one of the best fake tans I have used, its a liquid self tan and one of the only ones that actually smells nice! It has a lovely coconut, tropical holiday scent and doesn't start to smell like fake tan for a good few hours, which is good as you can put this on in the morning and it wont start to smell like that tell tale fake tan biscuit smell straight away.

So I start by having a bath or shower and exfoliate my skin thoroughly to remove any dry skin, as having any dry bits will make this product cling and look patchy (not good!) I then apply my Fake Bake oil free moisturiser to knees, elbows, ankles and wrists to avoid any orange patches. Then I am ready to start!

I put on the latex gloves provided, and spray a few pumps directly onto the mitt that it comes with, and apply the product onto my skin in long sweeping motions to avoid any streaking. It looks like you have a tan straight away but this is just the colour guide as it gradually develops over a few hours. I usually use it at night before I go to bed and then have a shower in the morning to remove the colour guide, and you are then left with a beautiful golden tan! The colour is perfect as you can apply it again the next day if you want to achieve a darker tan. Its good to invest in an oil fee moisturiser to use daily which will help prolong your tan and help it to fade evenly, as oil based moisturisers will break down the tan and it will start to look patchy. This picture is after 2 applications.

I love the fact this product dry's almost immediately and doesn't feel sticky like some fake tans, so you can put clothes on straight away, no waiting around in your undies for it to dry - bonus! If you use it at night some might come off on your sheets but don't panic as it does come off in the wash.

Its around £22 on the Fake Bake website or from Debenhams or other similar department stores, but I picked mine up from amazon for around £10 which is amazing value as it lasts so long! (I have had it since February and still have a 1/4 of the bottle left) I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to go from a wash off tan to an instant lasting one.

Lush Lips

As autumn and winter approach and the weather starts to get colder, my lips always take a turn for the worse and they go really dry and flaky which isn't nice at all. I love Lush products and I have been using the Popcorn lip scrub for the last year and it has done wonders for my lips. I use it every 2-3 days and it really helps to remove any dry skin, and is also great to use before you apply lipstick as it just seems to make it last longer.

The smell is incredible! Just like popcorn, its so sweet and hard not want to eat it. You just rub it all over dry lips with a clean finger and rinse it off, or you can use a cotton pad to remove any leftover scrub. It contains coconut oil, sugar and sea salt which are great at removing any dry skin and keeping them super soft. Its around £5 but its so worth it as 1 pot lasts me about a year!

After I have used my popcorn scrub I then use the most amazing lip balm EVER! Its called honey trap, and after trying what feels like pretty much every lip balm there is this is definitely the best by far. Its so rich and moisturising as it contains a few different oils such as almond oil and peppermint oil, and also honey and beeswax. This is also around £5 but they last so long so it really is worth investing in a decent lip balm.

If you suffer with really dry lips like me then I can't recommend it enough. What's your favourite flavour lip scrub and lip balm from Lush? x

Mac Lovin'

Being a massive fan of Mac makeup it was only right that my first post should be dedicated to my favourite makeup brand. I have used Mac for the last 2 years and it has definitely made a huge difference to my makeup routine.

I absolutely love Studio fix fluid and I use the colour NW25. This is definitely my top foundation at the moment as it has a medium to buildable coverage which I'm a massive fan of, and it is long wearing. It also has an SPF of 15 which I think is important in a foundation, especially if your moisturiser doesn't contain an SPF. I love it for a night out as it stays in place all night and is really comfortable on the skin. I also use the select sheer pressed powder in NW25 over the top to keep it in place and my skin looking matte and flawless.

I have recently purchased the prep+prime highlighter in the colour 'light boost' which I now wonder how I ever lived without! I think I was initially drawn to the packaging as its black and glittery, what's not to love? Its a pen style highlighter so it makes it really easy to apply, and I work it into the skin with my Real Techniques expert face brush, or a smaller fluffy brush for under the eyes. I love the finished look of this product, it leaves you looking fresh and pretty much does what it says on the tin!

I'm thinking of trying the Studio sculpt foundation as I love a good coverage. What do you guys think? If you have tried it I would love to know your thoughts!
